In September, Québec City and the surrounding region also become the backdrop for several major sporting events. Mountain biking, professional cycling, international tennis and outdoor activities fill the calendar, keeping the region moving right through the final days of summer.
From September 3 to 7, 2026, the Crankworx World Tour comes to Mont-Sainte-Anne, bringing together mountain biking athletes at one of the region’s most renowned destinations. On September 6, Baie de Beauport takes on a completely different atmosphere with A Day in Rio, a lively day by the water filled with activities, music and summer vibes.
On September 11, one of the month’s most impressive sporting events returns to the streets of the capital: the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec. The world’s top professional cyclists race along a spectacular course that takes them through some of the city’s most iconic areas, including Old Québec, Grande Allée and Promenade Samuel-De Champlain. Tennis fans can then head to Centre Vidéotron on September 18 and 19, when Canada faces France in the Davis Cup.
Whether you’re passionate about cycling and tennis or simply enjoy the excitement of major sporting events, September is a great time to combine a stay in Old Québec with some of the season’s must-see competitions.
