Summer Isn’t Over Yet

August is one of the loveliest times to experience Québec City outdoors. The days are still long, the streets of Old Québec are full of life, and the city’s green spaces and views of the St. Lawrence River invite you to slow down and enjoy every last moment of summer.

Start with a walk along Dufferin Terrace, overlooking the St. Lawrence River, before continuing toward the Governors’ Promenade and the Plains of Abraham. It’s an easy way to experience some of Québec City’s most iconic scenery on foot.

For a refreshing summer afternoon, head to Baie de Beauport, where you can enjoy the beach and beautiful views of the river. Closer to Old Québec, the Oasis du Port de Québec, located in the Louise Basin, offers a unique opportunity to swim right in the heart of the city.

You don’t necessarily need an itinerary to make the most of August. Wander through the streets of Petit-Champlain, stop to watch a street performer, find a sunny terrace or simply let the historic streets guide you.

Our favourite: Leave Maison du Fort in the late afternoon, walk to Dufferin Terrace and continue your stroll as the sun begins to set over the St. Lawrence River.
