August in Celebration: Québec City to the Rhythm of Summer
August keeps the summer energy alive throughout Québec City. Festivals, live performances, historical celebrations and culinary events fill the calendar, with many taking place just minutes from Maison du Fort.
From August 6 to 9, 2026, the New France Festival takes the Old Québec Historic District back in time with costumed characters, artisans, performances and activities inspired by the 17th and 18th centuries.
Food and craft beer lovers can continue the festivities at the Québec City Festibière, from August 13 to 16, at Espace Quatre Cents, where Québec microbreweries, local bites and entertainment come together in a lively summer atmosphere.
Francophone music also takes centre stage with SuperFrancoFête, featuring several major evenings at the Agora du Port de Québec between August 17 and 25. Later in the month, St-Roch XP, from August 27 to 29, brings live music, culinary discoveries and entertainment to the heart of the Saint-Roch neighbourhood. And throughout August, keep an eye on the evening sky: the Grands Feux Loto-Québec light up select summer nights and offer a spectacular show from several viewpoints around Old Québec.
Pair an evening event with a leisurely walk through the illuminated streets of Old Québec before making your way back to Maison du Fort.
