Two Events Not to Miss in Quebec City This October
From sports to culture, Quebec City has two major events to look forward to in October 2026. The Beneva Quebec City Marathon brings energy to the streets of the capital early in the month, while the highly anticipated opening of Espace Riopelle marks a new chapter for the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec.
On October 3 and 4, 2026, the Beneva Quebec City Marathon brings runners and spectators together for an exciting weekend in the heart of the capital. Several races are on the program, from the 5K to the 42.2K marathon, offering a unique way to experience different parts of Quebec City surrounded by fall colours. It’s a great opportunity to combine the excitement of the event with a stay in Old Quebec.
Starting October 22, 2026, the spotlight turns to art with the grand opening of Espace Riopelle Pavillon Michael Audain at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec. This new space, dedicated in part to the legacy of Jean Paul Riopelle, will open with four inaugural exhibitions. From October 22 to 25, the museum will celebrate its opening with four days of special programming featuring dance, music, creative experiences and immersive activities.
Whether you’re passionate about running, art or simply looking for new ways to experience the city, October offers two great reasons to extend your stay in Quebec City and enjoy the beauty of fall in the capital.
